A proposal to change a land use bylaw for some properties in the Labelle area from seasonal residential to "tourist commercial" was defeated by council in the Region of Queens. Although the properties in question are not part of the Greater Molega Lake Lot Owners Association, they do border on it and a number of residents of the area were present at a public meeting before Council on May 24th to voice their concerns and objections. In addition, council voted on a further motion to change the zoning on a portion of the lands known as the Old Mill pond area from "seasonal residential" to "conservation" thus preserving the delicate ecosystem of that area.
